Want to get involved in your community? Join the Sadie G. Mays Health and Rehabilitation Center Volunteer Program!
We love volunteers! In fact, caring volunteers are essential to our program. Sadie G. Mays provides orientation and training for volunteers to enrich their volunteer experience.
Volunteers are welcome to come in and assist with activities such as:
- Room Visits
- Reading to Residents
- Writing letters/cards for Residents
- Playing Bingo and other Games
- Parties & Theme Socials
- Special Events (Ex. health fair, concerts, etc.)
- Presenting Performances for Residents
- Hair Grooming for women and men
- Gardening
- Arts & Crafts
- Sponsoring Monthly Birthday Parties
Please contact the Activity Director Sybil Jennings at (404) 794-2477 or sjennings@sgmays.org or Development Director, Shirley Coleman at (678) 420-2915, scoleman@sgmays.org to schedule an appointment. Volunteers will complete a volunteer application and are required to have a valid driver’s license or state identification card. Volunteers who will have responsibilities involving direct contact with residents or with food served to residents on a consistent basis must take a TB test or show evidence of having been tested for TB in the last year. They must also complete an orientation session.
